Pat Garlits, the wife of drag racing legend “Big Daddy” Don Garlits, died of Alzheimer’s disease on February 2. Through over sixty years of marriage, Pat travelled with her famed husband, one of the greatest drag racers in history (who is still active). She died at home accompanied by her two daughters, holding Mr. Garlits’ hand, according to a letter he wrote, with her favorite big band music in the background.
In other racing news, Joel’s Team Spankin Time Dodge Challenger was stolen at around 7 pm last Sunday night from San Bernardino, California, in a 38 foot long black/red enclosed trailer by a white Ford F350 truck. A tall bald man with a long beard was spotted orchestrating the methodical heist. There is a $10,000 cash reward to anyone who finds this car and brings it back to us.
